Culture
Music is part of every child's curriculum. A music specialist takes all the infant and junior classes for singing, percussion, musical appreciation and composition. In Year four all pupils receive weekly violin lessons as part of their music curriculum. Choir practices and Recorder classes are held in the lunch hours. There is also a thriving orchestra which meets weekly after school. The orchestra also performs in assemblies and at school functions.
Tuition is offered in a range of instruments such as piano, guitar, cello, flute, clarinet and saxophone. Regular visits are arranged to places of cultural, historical, geographical and scientific interest. The school also has visiting ‘speakers’ of a chosen topic to help the children further understand the world around them.
